History of MORA
The MORA brand name may be new to you, but our commitment to quality and performance has stood the test of time. Our tradition of excellence has remained unchanged since our founding, nearly 200 years ago. Since then, a great deal has changed within the industry and inside the homes of our customers. 1825
Josef Zvěřina founds an ironworks in a Moravian valley, in what is now the Czech Republic. It eventually becomes the founding home of MORA.
1873
Our first household products – sewing machines – are introduced.
1902
The first of our Meteor brand kitchen stoves are introduced. Through 1930, over a million Meteor stoves (in various models) are produced.
1919
The MORA brand name and logo first appear on gas stoves.
1948
The first MORA absorption refrigerators are introduced.
1950
MORA Aerospace division is spun off, eventually to be acquired by Honeywell.
1971
Production of the iconic MORA series KS 821 range begins.
2014
The year the MORA brand introduces new induction cookers with the fastest and most efficient heating.
2017
MORA introduces a new generation of cooking appliances.
2022
The MORA brand debuts in North America.
